This is my studio. There’s a lot of light – which is suitable and warm. This is where the music of Mozart, Beethoven, or jazz and sometimes rock can be heard. This is the place where I am in harmony with myself. I can break dishes, sing (although not well) and dance. And no matter what – my studio accepts me in every way.
textile art
Welcome
Hello, my name is Myroslava Boikiv and I’m a Ukrainian textile artist living in Toronto. My textile work is the sphere of my creativity where I find different ways, means and methods for self-expression. It’s the ocean of ideas and opportunities.
I enjoy sketching with watercolour paints, that better help me understand this infinity. In addition, it is an exercise to help maintain tone in my creative process.
A special attention to my work is given to images I create with straw. They’re the cornerstone to my metaphorical arches because I think they subtly convey my essence as a person.
At first I was reluctant to put my work and ideas online, but now I’m ready and excited to share and write about creativity, about my art and the work that inspires me.
I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
